Utilisation of the Unmanned Aerial Vehicle for collaboration with artillery crews enhances reconnaissance capabilities through mobility of the unmanned vehicle and undercover surveillance (on mission with vehicle’s engine turned off). Real - time processing of data transferred by the Unmanned Aerial Vehicle enhances the potential of the artillery systems.
Integration of the Unmanned Aerial Vehicle Fly Eye and TOPAZ - Automated Fire Control System enables direct involvement of the aerial reconnaissance unit into the firepower control cycle. This is possible through the use of fully digitalised contact between the two systems. Integration between the Unmanned Aerial Vehicle Fly Eye and TOPAZ - Automated Fire Control System is based on IP network protocols. This applies to both the target data and the video image.
The software, with simple and intuitive user interface, is adapted to, inter alia, to use of a touch screen, allows the receipt and visualisation of the video image at the workstation of TOPAZ - Automated Fire Control System (or another system) Through photographs the system allows a user for simple and prompt target identification. Implementation of the radio network protocols of TOPAZ - Automated Fire Control System enables direct use of VHF radio station within the reconnaissance (S2) of an artillery subdivision.
Individual features:
- fully digitalised integration
- provides support for ZZKO TOPAZ - Automated Fire Control System (as well as other artillery systems) from target identification up to completion of fire mission
- provides digital image transmission (including command networks based on IP protocol stacks)
- enables automated relay of information on target coordinates
- supports automated sourcing of date for artillery fire corrections
- enables assessment of execution of a fire mission
- can be used with BMS class systems
- provides simple and intuitive user interface (also adapted to the use of a touch screen)
The software integrating the Unmanned Aerial Vehicle with artillery systems enables target identification, observation of fire impact and calculation of corrections of artillery fire.
This solution can be applied in any artillery system or unmanned aerial vehicle, which provides the possibility of integration through digitalised contacts.
